MOTE — Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 11, 2026 · Last updated: June 11, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the mobile game MOTE (package net.jjunior.mote) handles information. MOTE is developed and published by J Junior (the "Developer", "we", "us"), the independent studio behind jjunior.net.

The short version: MOTE is free to play and works offline. It uses Google AdMob to show ads and Google Firebase to power cloud save and a leaderboard. When you're online, the game signs you in anonymously (no name, no email) and stores your game progress under a random ID. You can optionally sign in with Google to back up your progress across devices. There are no paid in-app purchases — the in-game Starlight currency is earned by watching optional rewarded ads.

1. Who we are

MOTE is created by J Junior, an independent mobile game developer (jjunior.net). For any privacy question, you can reach us at jjunior.development@gmail.com.

2. What MOTE does not do

We have intentionally kept the game lean. MOTE does not:

3. Online features & data we collect

MOTE includes an online layer — cloud save and a leaderboard — powered by Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore and Realtime Database). The game stays fully playable offline; when you're connected, anonymous sign-in and cloud save happen automatically.

Authentication

Data we store (Firebase)

To make cloud save and the leaderboard work, we store the following under your UID:

We do not collect your real name, email address, contacts or precise location through these features.

4. Optional Google sign-in

You can play MOTE entirely as a guest. If you choose to sign in with Google, the app links your Google account to your existing UID through Firebase Authentication so that your progress is backed up and can be restored on another device. In that case Firebase processes your Google account identifier and the email address associated with it, strictly for authentication and to sync your save. We do not use it for marketing and we do not send you emails. Signing in is always optional and never required to play.

5. Advertising — Google AdMob

MOTE is free and ad-supported. It uses Google AdMob (the Google Mobile Ads SDK, publisher ID pub-2754314110529537) to display ads, including opt-in rewarded videos you choose to watch to earn the in-game Starlight currency. To serve and measure ads, Google's SDK may collect and use:

Depending on your consent and region, Google uses this information to serve personalized or non-personalized ads. This processing is carried out by Google. For details, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and the Google Privacy Policy.

6. Data stored on your device

Some information is saved locally on your device, including your settings, chosen language and a local copy of your game progress, so the game works offline. The app reads your device language locally, only to pick the initial language. You can remove local data at any time by uninstalling the app.

On first launch, where required (for example in the European Union, the UK and other applicable regions), MOTE shows Google's UMP / GDPR consent form, so you can choose whether to allow personalized ads. You stay in control:

8. Children

MOTE is not directed to children under 13 and is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided data through the game, please contact us and we will work to address it.

9. Your rights & deletion

Depending on your location (including under the GDPR in the EU/UK and the LGPD in Brazil), you may have rights to access, correct or delete your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can ask us to delete your account, cloud save, leaderboard entry and any Google link tied to your UID at any time by emailing jjunior.development@gmail.com. If you signed in with Google, you can also revoke MOTE's access in your Google account settings. For data held by Google for advertising, use the controls in Section 7 and refer to the Google Privacy Policy.

10. Retention & international transfers

Your cloud save and leaderboard entry remain in Firebase until you (or we, at your request) delete them. Locally stored data stays on your device until you clear it or uninstall the app. Data processed for advertising is retained by Google according to its own policies. Google Firebase and AdMob operate globally, so data may be processed in countries other than your own; these international transfers are handled by Google under the safeguards described in its privacy documentation. All data is encrypted in transit.

11. Google Play Data Safety

For transparency, this is consistent with our Google Play "Data safety" declaration:
